The redevelopment of Arena Parade will firmly link the town centre together, drawing the 30,000 plus shoppers every week who visit Morrisons into a new high quality shopping complex and through to the rest of the town centre. Including a combination of small and large retail units, the complex should be able to attract department stores and other major retailers. New semi-basement car parking may also be available on the site.

Attracting retailers in categories such as clothing, footwear, home and mixed goods will close the gap between what shoppers want and what Letchworth Garden City has to offer at present.   

Complementing the shopping experience, provision is being made for a restaurant and food piazza in front of the regenerated Town Hall.

The Heritage Foundation is interested in acquiring the Town Hall to house a Garden City Museum of international standing incorporating a first-class Tourist Information Visitor Centre.
