The Developments

In its goal to revitalise the heart of the world's first Garden City, Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation has submitted two of three major Planning Applications to North Hertfordshire District Council. 

The content of this section supports the Planning Applications for the redevelopment of The Wynd and improvements to the Street scene on Eastcheap and Leys Avenue. These applications were submitted to North Hertfordshire Council in October 2007.

Planning permission was granted for the Street Scene work in March 2008, with permission following for The Wynd redevelopment in June 2008.

It is anticipated that a third Planning Application in respect of the Foundation’s proposals for the redevelopment of the Arena area will be submitted in 2009.
