On The Move

Since it was announced that the Indoor Market in the Garden Square Shopping Centre would be closing, the Heritage Foundation has been working with the market’s traders to help them find alternative premises.  As part of that work, we are delighted to welcome the market’s greengrocer, R S Fruit Shop, to 40 Broadway.  Established in the town for over 15 years and selling locally sourced produce, they are the only independent greengrocer in the Garden City.

 

Preparations for the redevelopment of The Wynd are continuing, including helping existing businesses to relocate to suitable alternative premises.

A number of moves have taken place recently, with talks progressing with other retailers who want to embrace the opportunities. Watch this space for details and make sure you know where to find your favourite Garden City retailers.   

Recent moves include:

  • “On Your Travels” have relocated from The Wynd to 65 Station Road, offering a personalised travel agent service based on Tom Seddon’s many years of experience within the travel industry.
  • Husband and wife team Michael and Lesley Davey, who own Chicks Embroidery and Alice in Wonderland have moved from 3 The Wynd and 26 The Wynd and will now be jointly located in 13 The Arcade. 
  • Zhimei Ltd have moved into 3 The Gallery, offering a superb range of Tiffany-style lighting.
  • Another new addition to the Garden City’s range of shopping attractions is Beau Jangles, who have moved into 30a Leys Avenue.  With an exciting range of handbags and jewellery, owner Kathy Lake is a welcome addition to the Town.
